Gratitude-Based Sustainability
A framework that starts with wonder, not worry.
This research project proposes Gratitude-Based Sustainability (GBS) as a transformative, spiritually enriching framework for advancing sustainable development through emotional, ethical, and spiritual engagement.
It is rooted in a Christian theological worldview and seeks to illustrate that sustainability is not just a social concern but also a biblical mandate.

The three pillars
01
Reverence
Recognising the value of things beyond their usefulness. Seeing the world as gift rather than resource.
02
Reciprocity
Understanding our relationship with the world. Gratitude that naturally moves us to give back.
03
Responsibility
Believing that our choices matter. Acting as participants in the world, not passengers.
